OMG...
i have TWO PAPERS in a few hours but i CANNOT resist putting this entry in.
CHUA (this malaysian senior) doesn't know ANY mandrin and so decided to take a Chinese language course this year.
and now, he just told us what he wrote in his composition earlier today.
first, he didnt know WHAT name to use in the composition and since we only use matric numbers to identify ourselves on our script, (and he only knew HIS own name BECAUSE HIS DAD WROTE IT ON A PIECE OF PAPER FOR HIM), he decided to use his chinese name as his own.

then.
he proceeded to write about his "friend" and the friend's "girlfriend" (so, he used his name and his girlfriend's name)

then.
he wrote she is beautiful and cute "mei li" and "ke ai"
and then he wrote they like to sing and.....(he paused cuz he didnt know what to write, then he saw the "ai" (love) character) and......... decided whether or not to write "make love" or "zuo ai".


he ended up deliberating and laughing over it during the paper that the examiner came to ask him if he was ok. NOT TO MENTION HE WAS IN THE FRONT ROW.
so, it ended up sounding something like this

"i have a friend called ___. he has a girlfriend called ___. not only is she beautiful, she is also cute. my friend and his girlfriend like to sing and make love at the same time." (or was it my girlfriend and i?)

(then he told us his sentence construction was equally suggestive, or ended up sounding tt way because he forgot how to write his chinese characters!)
"it's too big already. can it be smaller?" (tai da le, ke yi xiao yi dian ma?)
